As discussed on many previous occasions, switch the default physics engine in OpenSimulator from OpenDynamicsEngine to BulletSim.
The BulletSim plugin is higher performance and has a better implementation of vehicles amongst other things. Many thanks to Robert Adams for making this possible with the enormous amount of work that he has done on this plugin. If you want to continue using ODE, set physics = OpenDynamicsEngine in the [Startup] section of OpenSim.ini
